Isabella Stewart Gardner’s Travel Albums  |  2011

Collaboration with Dynamic Media Institute, Travel Albums showcases an extensive visual record of Isabella Stewart Gardner’s travel albums from 1867–1895. Too fragile to handle, the museum wished to make these volumes accessible to the public via an online archive. DMI’s depiction of Travel Albums satisfies two audiences — scholars and the general public — by capturing the experience of the ephemera without sacrificing utility for research purposes.

Building on a Legacy: The Gardner Museum New Building Project 2010

Collaboration with Dynamic Media Institute, Building on a Legacy is the website for the Gardner Museum’s New Building Project. Designed by famed architect Renzo Piano, this project marks a great milestone in the history of the museum—an expansion to include a music hall, gallery for historic and contemporary art exhibitions; state-of-the-art greenhouse, classroom space; and additionally conservation of the existing palace. Website was built as a Content Management System (CMS) using Drupal development, allowing for the museum to make their own updates after the site launch.

Project was awarded an Honorable Mention in the “Best Website” category for the New England Museum Association (NEMA). Project was also a finalist in the “Government and Non-Profit” category for the 2010 Massachusetts Innovation & Technology Exchange (MITX) Awards.

Conceptual development and design for the Isabella Stewart Gardner monthly e-newletter. Project was awarded First Place in the “E-Newsletters Publications” category for the New England Museum Association (NEMA).

ISGM Site Audit  |  2008

Collaboration with Dynamic Media Institute. Proposal for new site architecture for the Isabella Stewart Gardner Museum main website. Process included:

  • Mapping the original site architecture
  • Interviewing museum curators and staff
  • Recording and publishing interviews online
  • Conceptualizing, mapping and design for new site architecture
  • Mapping proposed site architecture
  • Preparing formal documentation (site audit proposal) to the museum

Luxury for Export: Artistic Exchange between India and Portugal  |  2007

Collaboration with Dynamic Media Institute, Luxury for Export is the interactive component to the museum exhibition. Online exhibition features a large tapestry and the mapping of several artifacts visually and thematically to it. The interactive component also includes videos, and two options for experiencing the online exhibition: “explore” mode and “guided tour.”

Stray Dogs  |  2005

Collaboration with Dynamic Media Institute, Stray Dogs is an interactive exhibition promoting the museum exhibition by artist-in-residence, Danijel Zezelj. Stray Dogs is a series of paintings—when placed in sequence—become a story for a graphic novel
written and illustrated by Zezelj.

Collaboration with Dynamic Media Institute and graduate student Michael Wiggins, madamimadam features work from NY artist Elaine Reichek. Conceptual
development, design, video-taping, editing, and post-production of a web-based virtual exhibition shown during Boston Cyberarts Festival 2003. Site also resided as a kiosk in the Gardner Museum, and was part of the 2004 exhibition “After Babel, Alpha Beta” at the Nicole Klagsbrun Gallery in New York City.

Project was awarded First Prize in the “Museum Publications Design Competition” for the American Association of Art Museums.

Web design and Video Documentary

Collaboration with Richland Design Associates. Redesign for the front-end of the MIT OpenCourseWare (OCW) web site. Included revising site architecture, and redesign of the site to reflect an online magazine. Project also included three short video documentaries for OCW, involving the conceptual development, design, video taping, editing, and post-production.

Branding and Titling Sequence

Conceptual development and design for the FOX Searchlab brand identity, which included an animated version of the logo. Conceptual development, design, and animated sequence for Searchlab Lecture Series; used as branding before films featured at the Sundance Film Festival 2002-2003.
